"According to latest reports, U.S. Energy Department Cannot Account for Nuclear Materials at 15 Locations. It has been reported by a number of Nuclear Material licensed US institutions to the Energy Department that the amount of material they held was less than agency records indicated. Instead of investigating and rectifying, the Energy officials have written off significant quantities of nuclear material from the department's inventory records. The waste processing facilities when audited had no idea about the whereabouts of a significant amount of Uranium and other Nuclear Sensitive material. One of the examples of their irresponsible acts is that they have no records of an academic institution which had loaned 32-gram plutonium-beryllium source to another institution..."
